Nefesh Yehudi Academy 

Who: Students grades K-6 who attend Hatikvah International Academy Charter School
When: Monday – Thursday, 3:20 – 4:40 pm, with extended care available until 6:00 pm
Where: Temple B’nai Shalom in East Brunswick, New Jersey. Transportation from Hatikvah is provided
What: Nefesh Yehudi Academy aspires to teach the whole Jewish child. We offer educational experiences that stimulate critical thinking about big Jewish ideas; engender a sense of belonging to an ancient and modern, international people; empower engagement in Jewish life outside of the school setting; and promote affection for the modern state of Israel.

Kesher B’Ivrit at East Brunswick Jewish Center

Who: Students grades K-7 who attend Hatikvah International Academy Charter School
When: Wednesdays from 4:15-6:15pm
Where: East Brunswick Jewish Center
What: Kesher B’Ivrit is designed to meet the needs of native Hebrew-speaking learners in the greater community who are seeking innovative Jewish learning. Taught in Hebrew, learners will explore Torah stories from Bereishit through Exodus taught through studying original text and midrashim; Jewish values/mitzvot from the Torah and our tradition; holidays including history, rituals, and associated tefillot; tefillah with a focus on the meaning and choreography of Shabbat prayers; Israel, including ancient and modern history, major regions and cities, and contemporary society; Jewish Identity through understanding what unites Jews around the world: common language, traditions, holidays, life cycle events, sacred texts.
